Connect a client

Connecting takes three steps: create a key, add the server to your client, and ask it a question to confirm it works.

1. Create an API key

In the console, open Settings → API keys and create a key. Copy it straight away, since it's only shown once. See API keys for more.

2. Add the server

Enter your details to fill in a configuration block:

Your key stays in this browser tab. It isn't sent or saved anywhere.

json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "zlicx": {
      "url": "https://mcp.in.zlicx.ai/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "x-api-key": "YOUR_ZLICX_API_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}

Or copy the block for your client, and replace the placeholder with your key:

Add to .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or to the global file in your home folder.

json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "zlicx": {
      "url": "https://mcp.in.zlicx.ai/mcp",
      "headers": { "x-api-key": "YOUR_ZLICX_API_KEY" }
    }
  }
}

3. Check the connection

Restart or reconnect your client, then ask it something harmless that only reads data:

  • “List my zlicx agents.”
  • “Show my most recent zlicx call logs.”

If you get an error, see troubleshooting.
